Another workday was ending, and I was already on my way home. Those 5 minutes later my mind was already visualizing the scene of being at home and developing my ideas, my projects, my art. That’s where Six N. Five comes from, and the way I found to express myself through it, became part of my life.
Today, 8 years later, this same time is still present, but on the opposite side of the day. For me, 6am is when the alarm rings, and a few minutes later my day already started. This time in the scenario where I imagined eight years ago.
During this time I have been exploring different ways to represent this natural clock with the same elements. For some simply using the sun, for others it was a moon, or perhaps some unknown planet or geometric figure itself. Depending on the imagination of the viewer. I always saw it as an object that works as a canvas, where the light tinges it with different colors, to tell us an hour or moment of the day, or just to imagine it. This representation of time, so relative but so accurate at the same time.
Besides the uses of this element so present in the last years, 06:05am symbolizes this new stage, in a summer in Barcelona, and already situated on the scene that I dreamed eight years ago. Think of this piece as a quiet place among the dunes overlooking the horizon as the sun, our time machine, rises again for another day.
